Farewell, Quincy High School
Farewell, Quincy High School
~ Farewell, Quincy High School
The memories shall last
But since the future must unfurl,
We must forgo the past.
~ But what stops the reminiscence
Is not the things we've learned
So, we often drop the good times
Because leaving was what we yearned.
~ Remember the old Vocational Tech?
The broken doors, the darkened halls, the walls composed of brick?
Every square inch of asbestos found
Was enough to make one sick.
~With fears that we would be stuck in trash,
The garbage that only grew,
An announcement came, a promise for change
A school was to be built anew.
~ The work began and students were moved
And all were cramped in a single space
The old school never seemed so bad,
Until construction noises filled up the place.
~ Once ancient and historical,
The old school had dissolved
With years of seeing grime and mold,
The President's place had just evolved.
~ With that said, we say goodbye
And move to better things
But in my mind, and others too,
I still hear school bells ring.
~ Farewell, Quincy High School
You surely will be missed
The time we've spent was not a waste
I'm glad this place exists...
